Theorycraft Games is an independent multiplayer game studio founded by veterans from Riot Games, Blizzard, and other top studios, with a mission to create deep, socially-driven competitive games. The studio's first project, code-named Project Loki during development, launched as SUPERVIVE in November 2024 open beta and fully released globally in July 2025 — a genre-blending multiplayer battle royale MOBA that combined hero shooter mechanics with battle royale progression.
Business Model & Competitive Advantage
Despite reaching a global launch, SUPERVIVE struggled to sustain player growth. In December 2025, Theorycraft announced the game would shut down live service on February 26, 2026, citing the inability to grow the player base sufficiently to make continued operation sustainable given the game's development costs. The team acknowledged that despite significant iterations, the changes were not effective enough to drive the necessary retention and new player acquisition.
