Ensyn is a renewable energy technology company headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, that produces low-carbon biofuels from non-food lignocellulosic biomass (wood residues, agricultural waste, and other forestry by-products) using its proprietary Rapid Thermal Processing (RTP) technology. RTP is a fast pyrolysis process that rapidly heats biomass in the absence of oxygen to produce a liquid bio-oil — sometimes called pyrolysis oil or bio-crude — along with biochar and syngas by-products.
